Director Search

Upon learning of Gene and Caryn Clark's intention to retire in 2013 after 24 years at the helm of YMCA Camp Belknap, the Board of Directors began planning a search and transition process. A Search Committee of Board members is working alongside YMCA search professionals Mike Harrison and Mary Hurley, as well as former Belknapper Jeff Bradley who is a professional search consultant overseeing the search process and serving as point person for all applicants. After a thorough process of recruiting, interviewing and reference checking, the Search Committee will nominate a candidate, forwarding its recommendation to the full Board of Directors who is expected to name the new Director in late 2012 or early 2013.

Late 2011 - Announcement of the Clarks' retirement
Late 2011 - Belknap community is invited to complete a survey to offer input on the position description
Early 2012 - The position description is drafted and approved by the Board of Directors
Early 2012 - Active recruitment of candidates begins
Spring to Fall 2012 - Recruiting, interviewing, reference checking of candidates
Late 2012 or Early 2013 - Anticipated conclusion of search and hiring process
Spring - Summer 2013 - Transition to new Executive Director
